He heard it in a song, he says

My 6 year old:  Mommy, was does BFG mean?
Me:  You mean BFD?  It means...wait... what?

He also tells me that he never remembers coming into our room in the middle of the night.  He says he must float in on a cloud.

And just this past weekend my girl started to nod her head 'yes' and 'no', appropriately.  Very deliberately and emphatically.  I never realized she didn't do this, till she started.  Such a little thing, and yet so proud.

That is all.

I thought BFG was The Big Friendly Giant -- that wonderful Roald Dahl book!

  2. Yes, Roald Dahl, we have them all. And yes, as Elizabeth said, BFG is the Big Friendly Giant!

  3. Well, of course it is! Silly mommy, always thinking the worse. Funny you both mentioned Dahl. I just realized last night he's outgrown a lot of his books and it high time to upgrade/sort/buy/giveaway. Now I have a weekend project!

  4. Umm, I am so out of touch that I had to look up BFG on Urban Dictionary. I had no idea, although I tried to come up with known phrases involving the f-word (that one, at least, I intuited).

  5. I'd assumed he misheard the G and meant "big fucking deal" - after Alison's comment I had to go look at urban dictionary too. BFG = Big fucking gun. So my choices are eye-rolling sarcasm from a 6 yr old, violent gun-loving-ness from a 6 yr old... or Ronald Dahl. Definately going w/the last!
